Tony has more than 25 years of labor relations and human resources experience in a number of industries. He has served as chief negotiator and strategic labor relations’ advisor for U.S. and Canadian corporate operations and has also provided senior support for other labor relations and human resources projects and initiatives.
Most recently, Tony served as the Vice President, Labor and Employee Relations at Gate Gourmet. During his 11 year tenure at Gate Gourmet, Tony served as chief negotiator for a number of contracts covering over 10,000 employees. He led collective bargaining, contract administration, arbitration, mediation, and other dispute resolution processes, including acting as chief spokesperson during federal mediation under auspices of the National Mediation Board (NMB) involving multiple unions. He was also responsible for all other labor relations projects and initiatives as well as compliance and policy administration. His position gave him extensive experience in contract administration of labor contracts, as well as the grievance administration process. He was a key member of the senior executive team, providing strategic direction and guidance on North American and global labor relations, employee relations, compliance and other human resources issues.
Prior to his time at Gate Gourmet, he was a Managing Director of Labor Relations at US Airways where he oversaw labor relations, served as chief spokesperson for pilot, flight attendant, and flight crew training instructor negotiations and managed contract and grievance administration. In addition, he provided labor relations’ guidance to operating managers for a pilot group represented by the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA), flight attendant group represented by the Association of Flight Attendants (AFA) and flight crew training instructor group represented by the Transport Workers Union (TWU). He concluded five restructuring agreements and multiple renewal National Master Agreements with no strikes or labor disruptions during entire period of tenure.
Tony earned his bachelor of arts from the Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Science degree in industrial relations from West Virginia University.
