Jill Wine-Banks Joins F&H Solutions Group to Expand its Human Resources, International Business Development and Not-For-Profit Management Consulting Practice
Former Head of Chicago’s Career and Technical Education, CEO of Winning Workplaces, Motorola and Maytag Executive, and COO of the American Bar Association
WASHINGTON, D.C. (Dec. 1, 2008) – F&H Solutions Group, a national human resources and labor relations consulting firm headquartered in Washington, DC, announced today that Jill Wine-Banks will join the firm’s Chicago office to expand consulting services to its clients in the areas of international business development, alliance and joint venture creation and operations, not-for-profit, public sector, association management, and education.

For the last five years, Ms. Wine-Banks was the Chief Officer, Education to Careers (ETC), for the Chicago Public Schools (CPS), the third-largest school district in the country. "She was responsible for all career and technical education, and created several innovative programs, including Chicago's only "early college high school," DeVry Advantage Academy, where students simultaneously earn a high school diploma and associates degree in four years of high school, and a full-service branch of Park Federal Savings run by ETC accounting students," said Arne Duncan, CEO of CPS. "Jill brought her corporate skills and leadership ability to benefit the world of public education. She made wonderful contributions that enhanced the lives of Chicago students," he added.
Prior to CPS, Ms. Wine-Banks was CEO of Winning Workplaces during its startup phase. This not-for-profit organization helps small and mid-sized business and not-for-profits become more effective and profitable by building better workplaces.
Her career also includes senior corporate executive leadership roles at Motorola and Maytag, where she was responsible for international business development and operations, government relations, alliance and joint venture creation. In her corporate roles, Ms. Wine-Banks negotiated and worked in Pakistan, China, Japan, Russia, Ukraine, Europe and Latin America.
Before joining the corporate world, she was Chief Operating Officer of the world's largest professional association and legal publisher, the American Bar Association.
Early in her career, Ms. Wine-Banks was Assistant Watergate Prosecutor for the main cover-up trial and hearing about the eighteen and a half minute gap in the White House tapes during which she questioned President Nixon's secretary, Rosemary Woods. In addition, she was President Carter’s General Counsel of the United States Army and Illinois’ first Solicitor General and Deputy Attorney General under Attorney General Neil F. Hartigan.
Ms. Wine-Banks also has experience in private practice at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver and Kampelman in Washington, DC and as a partner at Jenner and Block in Chicago, Illinois.
Ms. Wine-Banks is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of Roosevelt University.
She also has corporate governance experience as a member of the Board of Directors of Cenvill Development Corp. and as Chairman of the Board of St. Petersburg Telecom (Russia) and its holding company, Omni Capital Partners, Inc.
Ms. Wine-Banks is active in The Chicago Network, the Executives Club of Chicago, the Economic Club of Chicago, and is a frequent speaker for professional and business groups. She has been the recipient of many awards, including several from the United States Department of Justice, the highest civilian award given by the United States Department of the Army, as well as awards from the Girl Scouts and the YWCA. She is included in numerous editions of Who’s Who.
Ms. Wine-Banks holds a JD from Columbia University Law School in NY, a BS in Communications from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and an Honorary Doctor of Law from Hood College. She is a member of the New York, District of Columbia, and Illinois Supreme Court Bars, as well as numerous Courts of Appeals.
